Quality Assurance General Info

The Quality Assurance Lab at Baker Boy is a busy hub in our manufacturing plant.  Baker Boy's Quality Assurance department oversees many facets of product production.

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing the adherence of GMP in our manufacturing facility.  GMP’s are basic common sense tips like: no jewelry, or no eating on the production floor.  GMP’s are enforced by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for any food manufacturing facility.  We also engage in audits with the FDA, Military, and New Science Management.

HACCP Program
(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Baker Boy follows HACCP training, and documentation program, for the manufacturing and handling of food safe products.

Kosher Certification
Baker Boy is a certified OU-D facility. (OU means= Orthodox Union, D- means dairy)
We are inspected monthly by a Rabbi.

Samples Test Bake
Every ten minutes samples are taken from the production lines for QA to test bake.  QA looks for crucial errors, such as no yeast, no spread from a cookie, or light in color after baking, etc.  If an error is found, the product is placed ON HOLD, and will not leave the building. 

Quality Checks
Baked and frozen product samples are checked to assure product specifications are met for each individual product.

Nutritional Information 
All products manufactured at Baker Boy are given complete nutritional documentation, ingredient legends, and allergen warnings.

Lot Tracking
Lot Tracking is utilized in case of a product recall.  This tracking system allows us to track recalled product after it leaves our facility.

Inspection of the Plant 
Monthly inspections are conducted to verify cleanliness, identify potential HACCP violations, and rate overall plant organization.  Designated employees from all departments conduct a walkthrough inspection of the entire facility.

Inspection of Incoming Bulk Ingredients 
QA makes sure that bulk ingredients are within the suppliers COA (Certificate of Analysis).  This includes: taking samples, checking that seals are on trailers, (trailers with broken seals, or product that does not meet our specifications are rejected.)

Customer Questions, or Product Issues
Our QA department handles questions, or concerns, customers may have about a product they have purchased.
